The lightning-fast special operation that Putin predicted against Ukraine turned into a full-scale, exhausting, bloody war, a war that has been going on for 1,417 days, and since 2014, it has been 4,344 days of war!
The Russian leader's dream of capturing Kyiv in three days and controlling all of Ukraine has turned into a painful mirage. The Kremlin leader has led Russia into a labyrinth from which there is no escape; each subsequent step is into darkness, but stopping would mean weakness for the president and the country as a whole. The Russian authorities have guaranteed their country a zugzwang, in which each subsequent move only makes matters worse and brings defeat closer.
Recent events in the world, namely: the American special operation to detain Venezuelan President-dictator Maduro and his subsequent transfer to the United States, the seizure of oil tankers flying the Russian flag by American special forces, and the events currently unfolding in Iran, all testify to Russia's weakness.
Modern Russia is incapable of protecting its allies, although it can still shelter them with its loot, as it did with fugitive presidents Yanukovych and Assad.
The Russian flag is no longer a guarantee of security and strength. It turns out that Russia's submarine acts as an observer rather than a defender, allowing American forces to pursue and escort a tanker flying the Russian flag. This is the world Putin dreamed of: a world in which truth and justice belong to the strong, but it turns out that Russia is not the strong one.
The world order that Putin so wanted to change to his advantage, a multipolar world where Russia would be the centre of influence, is crumbling before his eyes, and it seems that instead of domination, the Russian Federation is receiving humiliation and contempt.
There is still strength to strike Ukraine with the Oreshnik hypersonic missile but there was not enough strength or courage to stand up to the Americans.
Meanwhile, Ukraine is exhausted, worn out, destroyed, without electricity, but unconquered. It is holding on thanks to the courage, heroism, and resilience of the Ukrainian soldier, who has proven to be stronger than Putin and the world at considerable thought.
